Ever since I was old enough to use my Grandfathers old Polaroid camera and rapidly fan those self-developing pictures so I could see the pictures more quickly, I have had a love of photography. As a child I can’t even tell you how much of that Polaroid film of his I wasted. I have always had a fascination with what the eyes see when that one split second in time has been captured on film. Because that’s what a picture is, one split second in time.
I learned how to develop my own negatives with 35mm film, and taking those negatives to produce black and white photos in a dusty old darkroom during the summers of my childhood in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. Photography has certainly evolved since then. Digital has taken the place of film, Polaroids are novelty cameras, and everyone has a camera in their pocket eager to post to social media to show the world what they eat, where they are, and what they are doing.
As a child photography for me was a hobby, taking photos of everything and anything I could. As I grew into an adult I did what a lot of people do. I went to school, got a Bachelor of Science Degree, got a job, and raised a family. In other words, I did what was expected of me. I used that degree to work in research laboratories for the Wake Forrest University School of Medicine for 18 years studying behavioral models here in Winston-Salem. Even though my hobby fell by the wayside I never lost the passion I have for it.
I was raised here in the Triad and am very familiar with the areas of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point and the western Piedmont so I have an avid affinity for this area and the great state of North Carolina. Shooting real estate has become an absolute passion, and I want to give my client's photos the utmost attention I can so that the property they have for sale or rent looks the best that it can.
